Car Warranty

Warranty Expiring Soon

I got a phone call from an unknown caller. It was a recording. The voice informed me that they had tried to contact me several times and she was letting me know the Warranty on my car was about to expire. My car is 15 years old. I guess one size fits all. I suppose most people still have warranties on their cars.
This is all that happened today.

They called me the other day. When I asked which car they were calling about they hung up on me!

We have been getting emails about extendig car warrantees with no reference to which car, all of which are past the years and milage. The economy will drive many to try creative ways to get our money.

My mom got a handwritten postcard the other day from a company that said she had $317.56 in unclaimed property and needed to contact them to get it. I called and asked what it was, they told me I had to set an appointment to find out. I said it was obviously a scam if they couldn't just tell me over the phone. They hung up.

I can only imagine what would have happened at that appointment. I' guessing my credit card number would have been involved.

I don't do anything on the phone anymore if they call me. I got a call from sirius Radio saying that I had not paid my bill and they wanted me to pay it over the phone so they did not turn me off. It is an autopay so I told them I would check into it and call them back. I checked and our bill had been paid? They kept calling until Jim told them that our bill had been paid what were they talking about and they hung up.

This is the new scam that they use that drives me crazy both by phone and by mail.

Can I just say I hate the new recorded telemarketers? We never even had a warranty on our car, and they still keep calling!

My 92 year old grandma got a call about her 1981 Honda. They said she needed to renew her warranty.
Great! Only she hasn't driven in 6 years and my son bought the car from her in 2002. Just another B%@#$(&*^ scam if you ask my opinion.

Caller ID is the best money we spend. It's annoying to have the phone ringing off the hook each night (even though we're on the "do not call list"), but at least we can see who it is and ignore the telemarketers and charaties.
