Nothing Much

Today I went looking for bargains. First I went to Sears to cash in the remainder of a gift certificate. A few dollars was left on it so I found a small bottle of cologne that I like. I bought it and looked at a few clothing items. From there I went to Borders to look at books. A very nice couple was so generous to give me a Borders gift Certificate for Christmas. When I walked into the place an alarm went off. Everybody turned to see whom the thief might be. I didn’t know the protocol of what to do in that situation, as to whether I should throw my hands up in the air or dive for the floor. A store clerk came running over. I told him that I had just arrived and I didn’t take anything. He asked if I had come from another store. I told him I had a small package in my purse that I bought at Sears. It was still in the bag with the receipt. He said he could cancel it or deactivate it or whatever they call it. So he did. An alarm didn’t go off when I left Sears. Borders didn’t ask to see the receipt or anything like that, I guess it happens a lot. It just had never happened to me before. That’s how dull my life is. That was the high point in my day. I bought three books and came home.

Your shopping trip sounded like fun. What type of cologne do you like??... ( I think they rig the alarms in those stores to go off for every 10th customer or so just to see the surprise on people's faces ).... Have a great Wednesday. Jaime

Most likely not fun while it was happening but funny to read later!

I find it eventful and funny. :) Incidentally, is it about security alarms and stuff - one of the books you bought?

One of the books is "Dewey" by Vicki Myron with Bret Witter. It is about the small town library cat who touched the world.

I can see it now! You on the 6 o' clock news! Grandma thought to have taken a bookmark! Turns out to be a mistake. Store faces 1,000,000 lawsuit! I kinda want to be tackled by mistake and then own the store in the lawsuit. Yeah I am strange. :)

Beautiful picture!

I've had the same thing happen to me going into Borders and never did figure out why the alarm went off. I've glad you didn't dive on the floor! I love going to Border's even if it's just to browse. I could buy the whole place, but have gotten pretty good at controlling my book addiction. We went into Borders Monday night and I just bought note cards 50% off and a magazine with what was left on my Border's gift certificate. I love gift certificates. My husband doesn't get it.

Well, once again, you have me sitting her laughing. Good thing, it's the only exercise I get these days.
You crack me up.

Keep those post coming, I need to lose some weight.
