Live and Learn

I am such an ignoramus when it comes to insurance. Of course the insurance company is not going to pay for somebody's injury unless the injured person has the insurance. If he were my guest then they might consider it. Live and learn. I'm still living and I'm still learning.
They didn't teach insurance in school. Maybe they need a class called "Insurance" .

I thought homeowners were liable for injuries on their property. I'm still confused. You're right, there ought to be an insurance class.

doesn't your son have his own insurance? It sounds like it was his own fault. Why doesn't he pay for it?

I think insurance companies only have their own interests in mind...it's always like pulling teeth to get them to pay out!

The point is that her homeowner's insurance ought to have covered his injuries and we need someone besides the insurance companies deciding what will and will not get paid for. I, too, have a son with no medical insurance. A catastrophic illness could bankrupt myself and his father. Being self insured, if you don't have help from an employer, costs about $600 per month. Many average people can't afford that.
