Too Old to Cut the Mustard

The worst part about being old is being old. It just plain sucks. It’s not fun. I don’t care what George W Bush SR. said about parachuting out of an airplane. It’s not my idea of a good time. He thought the alternative was sitting in a corner drooling. I would rather be sitting in a corner drooling. Just putting the parachute on would have me so winded I would need a week to rest up. Nothing works right anymore. I hear people say that since they retired they just don’t have enough time in their day to do everything. It’s not that you have so much to do, you’ve slowed down so much it takes you ten times longer to do it. At least I’m too old to die young. Maybe this heat wave is getting me down. The weatherman said the unofficial temperature was 100 degree’s today. My thermometer said it was 109 in the shade this afternoon. It might be off a degree or two, but it’s not off that much. My petunia’s just looked fried. This heat is supposed to hang around for a few days. Too bad we can’t store some of it up for next winter.

I AM ALL FOR HEAT STORAGE! Think of the shrunken power bills! Still, I don't mind the heat, our tomatoes re ramping up production and so are the squash and zucchinis! On the down side, I need to mow the lawn again...stupid me! I watered the lawn...and you know what? It GREW! Not sure that's so good.

Well try to stay inside!

I think that it was Betty Davis who said that getting old wasn't for sissies. I am sure that the heat is putting a damper on everyone's spirits!

Wow - you've got the heat wave and we've got heat relief! Unseasonably cool temps and rain for July in Oklahoma!
