Tomato Time

I am finally rested up from the wedding. Not that I did anything. All I had to do was show up. When you’re my age, you need to rest before you show up.
Yesterday I bought one tomato plant and planted it in a big pot. Summer is just around the corner and I would love to have my own tomato crop. I bought a mature one. It’s already grown up and ready to produce big ripe tomatoes. Well maybe not quite, but it should not take all summer.
When something is wrong with my computer it bugs the life out of me. Kenny usually fixes it for me, but this time I fixed it myself. It was a really BIG DEAL, my Itunes went on a sit-down strike and would no longer work. I stewed and fretted over it for several days. Trying a few different things, I finally read somewhere that the best bet is to uninstall it and reinstall it. So I held my breath, and uninstalled it. Then I found the latest version and downloaded it. Miracles of miracles it worked like a charm. I know I sound like a first grader that got on the bus all alone for the first time.
While I am on the computer I put my Itunes on and listen to it and also sing along with it. Practice really does help. One day I found my voice. No kidding, I could never really sing before in my whole life. It only took me 81 years to find my voice. Would you call me a slow learner or what. Don’t be looking for me in a concert anytime soon. It will take me another 80 years to get that good.
My new great granddaughter already found her voice and she is not even three months old. You should hear her, she talks to you. It’s so cute she tries so hard to talk.
I need to go check up on my tomato crop. See you later.

I think we are going to try several different tomato varieties this year. And MANY more plants! I like those heirloom tomatoes...might try those and I want to see if Beefsteak tomatoes really taste like beef. I think we will only do one bush of cherry or grape tomatoes this year, though. And I intend to fertilize the hell out of them. You wait! I'll have Hunt's buying my tomatoes by August!

Wow - I'm way impressed that you fixed your computer... I usually let Shawn fix ours. :)
Gene & Shawn planted somewhere around 105 tomato plants this year... can you imagine???

I hope you have lots of neighbors to share the maters with. LOL. I guess you can can them or freeze them if you have the spare time.

A friend gave me two tomoato plants this weekend. I'm putting them in a pot on my front deck and crossing my fingers. I planted one in Ilwaco a couple of years ago in an old wheelbarrow. It grew like crazy, got lots of flowers and then that was the end of it. I'm hoping these will do better in Gig Harbor, but actually my yard on the coast gets more sun.

I have to wait for my youngest to come home to fix my computer. I had to have my daugther-in-law show me how to turn on my new cell phone and last night she helped me download a ring tone, the Doors, People Are Strange. Frankly, I think technology has outstripped my ability to deal with it.

Stephanie, I am with you. I know technology has outstripped my ability to deal with it. I have completely given up. Although I am going to get out the cell phone instructions and learn how to lock it so it won't accidently ring somebody when I have it in my pocket. Wish me luck.

Good news, Lorrene, my oldest son helped me figure out how to take pictures with my cell phone so I could get a couple of him and his daughter when they took me out to dinner tonight. Now, if I can just email it to myself...
