Learn Something New Every day

What is the difference between outlaw and illegal? I didn't think you'd know so I'll tell you. Outlaw is against the law and illegal is a sick bird.
This day has lasted forever and it isn't even Sunday. One Christmas eve a few years ago I became a grandma of Identical twin girls. Molly and Emily.

All I Want For Christmas

All I want for Christmas is a new wrinkle-free face without the turkey neck. I'm not really all that concerned with it. It comes with the territory, if you live this long you're going to have some proof and wrinkles are the proof.
When you get old you discover all the things they make that are child-proof are also Senior proof. I hate opening new boxes of cereal or anything. They have them sealed up so tight it takes a jack-hammer to get the top off, and a bottle cap is next to impossible. If it isn't too large I can open it with the pliers. Boxes take the whole toolbox and a stick of dynamite. I guess they got tired of things getting opened in the store. Well, they succeeded that sure isn't going to happen anymore.

Ta Ta and Merry Christmas
My hair needs a new do.

I just love these old pictures. My sister-in-law  Florence and Alice Marie is the leg hugger. Me and my firstborn, Kenny.
The year was 1950. I had some saddles too.(Shoes)

This is My Life

Life goes on in the slow lane too. Some people are so busy they don't have enough time in the day to get it all done, and now I have all the time in the world I never get everything done. It'll wait.

Our weather is ugly. The sun must be on vacation. I sure haven't seen much of it lately.
Christmas season again. It's a moneymaker for businesses and a money spender for the average person. Crime and murder don't slow down any for Christmas. So many people get murdered every day no matter what time of the year it is.
My ex-daughter-in-law came by today to give me something. When there is a divorce in a family it affects everyone in the family, we have made friends with the ex and that doesn't disappear because the marriage did. We have been friends for decades.
I think they are still friends as far as I know.

I don't have much blog material anymore, but I still get a lot of views on my blog. One day recently I had 80 views in one day.
For whatever reason, I have always had an interest in writing and words, and have a dictionary at my fingertips. My favorite pastime is crossword puzzles. I even saved this old article I found in a magazine once upon a time. A long time ago.

The Day I Got Off the Bus

I was transplanted to this God-forsaken village seventy-some years ago.  It was not really God-forsaken, but to me it was. I didn't know a single soul except for my husband and new inlaws, Hub had a job and was gone eight hours a day. So what was there to do. I sit at the table and played solitaire until I wore the cards out.  I had learned how to crochet so I did a lot of that. In those days I don't remember yarn being in existence so I made a ton of those little frilly doilies. One day I decided to find the city library. I don't remember how I found the address and I  didn't know if it was North 3rd Ave or South 3rd Ave so of course I went to the wrong one and found the Armory building. I wandered around for awhile and finally went home.
I sat and looked out the window a lot. Finally, I had a new neighbor and her name was Lorraine. We became best friends right away because she was in the same boat I was in except she came with her new husband from Arizona. We were best friends for the rest of her life.  It was the rest of her life because she passed away several years ago. Another new neighbor moved into our apartment building and her name was Mary. She remained a friend until her death many years ago. Well, life goes on or at least mine does and now every friend I ever knew kicked the bucket. Not really, I know Billy and Marian are still around, but I think everyone else has turned themselves in. I'd turn myself in but can't find the office. You know how I am about finding places. If this doesn't make sense it's because I don't have any left since I grew so old. I think Cecilia may still be around but I have forgotten her last name and I think Sheila may be around as well.
Well, the sun finally peeked around a cloud. We've had the dreariest weather lately. It's Friday the 13th.
Stay warm and keep your smile smiling.

Live Life to the Fullest, eat.

Another day, another overcast foggy, dark, dreary day. It's only December so just deal with it. I'm eating candy kisses and drinking diet Pepsi. It helps a little. Now when I get on the scales next week and hear them howl I will apologize. It always calms things down even if you don't mean it. I should have been a marriage counselor.
Oh, I just noticed it's lunchtime and I'm not the slightest bit hungry.
I will be searching YouTube for something else to crochet. I need to search for some more yarn. I have lots of yarn but not enough in one color to do anything with.
Yea, that's what I will do. Amazon, here I come.
Ya'all have a nice day and don't eat too much.

Snow Day

December 1st 2019
Winter has arrived and so has the snow.
Are cats just dumb or is it stubborn? I opened the door and called her over to look out and she totally ignored me and just sat there staring into space.
I already took a Winter nap and had to look at the computer to see if it is Monday yet. No, it's still Sunday. In my past, I would be in church by now. No, I don't need a ride to church. I have turned into a lazy hazy elderly one. I was going to call myself an old lady but decided to quit insulting myself. I guess it isn't an insult to be old. It depends on your genes I think. My Grandpa Lockwood lived to be 89 back when people usually died in their 70's or so. I remember when back on the farm, he always took a long afternoon walk and when he returned he would lie down under the apple tree and take a long nap. I don't know if he realized exercise was good for him or it was just the way he liked to live. My Grandpa Potter lived to be 59. He died from a stroke.
