Remember Pearl Harbor

War and destruction never ends. Loss of life and a million tears shed. Most of the Veterans that survived this have now passed on.  New wars and more tears. It never ends. I was 13 years old when this happened. I had a brother age 19 that was in the middle of it. He was reported missing in action, but the report was a mistake. He was later reported okay. He has now passed on.

I didn't come along until about 6 years later. Seen so many movies about it. It was horrible.

And now we are in the middle of another. Why can't they ever learn?

Thanks for remembering, Lorrene. The pictures are great. Today I went to the PBY Memorial Foundation at Oak Harbor NAS on Whidbey Island to remember my dad and his brother who were at Kaneohe that day.

What a way to start a war, (that last photo) Pennsy stuck in dry dock! At least she wasn't damaged severely! You can see California's tops to the left of Pennsylvania's bridge.

And in the first picture, I believe that is Nevada grounded on the far right, the view is from 1010 dock. you are looking at the stern of the cruiser pictured in the last photo...my photo interpretive skills are at 100 percent today.

Our big brother was there when this came about, then two years later our Mom had this sweet little girl born on the 7th of December. He couldn't forget that date then if he wanted too.I was the sweetest little thing that ever happened.
