The Name of the Game is the Same

I had a birthday, it started in 1928 and they still show up every year on the 24th of August. Life moves on and the world gets wilder and wilder. It's the wild wild west again. I really don't think it's any wilder here than any other place.
I am the tree and my kids and grandkids are the nuts. I guess that makes me the biggest nut of all.  I forgot to take a picture of the cake. I got two birthday cakes when you get this old you deserve two.
I drew this years ago when I thought I was old.

Time Waits for No One

One fine June day in 1946 I arrived in Yakima, Wa from Stillwater, Okla.                              I looked like this.

I was standing in front of an apple tree or it could have been a Cherry tree. I was 17 and just married. Back in that era women and girls wore dresses. Even in the cold winter, we had to wear those dresses to school. We could wear long stockings but not pants. You had to wear a harness, like a horse, to fasten those stockings to.
I guess it didn't hurt me, I'm still here. I wish the picture was in better condition.
When I was a child we lived on a farm in the country but moved to town when I started to highschool. I didn't know a soul and was not a happy camper. I didn't even try to make friends. I guess I thought they would come to me. Tell your kids it doesn't work that way. If you want a friend, you make the move. I finally managed to make one friend, we remained friends and kept in touch by mail until she went to the great beyond a few years ago. I always found someone to be a close friend with.

Now, I'm past my prime and do nothing but waste time.
It's beginning to get dark a little earlier. I hate the short days but maybe the smoke will take a hike for a while anyway.
Goodbye until we meet again.

I guess I should add that I started out in Oklahoma and am now in Washington state for those that might care.

Nothing Much

Karen's Sunflower

We come into this world about the same as when we go out of it. Not much hair, no teeth, no smiles, sleep all day, stay awake all night.

I have very little to write about in this blog these days.
I'm going to bed now. It's 10 P.M. and my bedtime.
I shall add a little story I took from Facebook.

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.
Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. The man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight.
He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, 'Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?' The blind lady replied, 'No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs."
Picture this:
All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!
True story... Have a great day and remember...
THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR.
A day without laughter is a day wasted!

Life on the Globe

Just another day on the globe. My son is making a grocery run for me. I am still counting flowers on the wall. Sassy, the brat cat, is sitting on the arm of my chair making cat sounds. She is trying so hard to send me a message that she wants some cat treats. I am ignoring her because she needs to go to cat-treat therapy. It's a habit she needs to quit cold turkey and not look back. If I had a dog she/it would be looking out the window for something to bark at. They want their voices heard. They also need a poop scooper to scoop their poop. I'm not signing up for that job. Now wouldn't that be prestigious employment to enter on an important document? An official poop scooper.

I had the vaccine and wish everyone else had it as well. I understand others are refusing to get it because it means the government is trying to take control and take over our minds and they don't want another Hitler. Or they don't believe it's been tested enough yet.
I understand if you get it you might die, ready or not. and if you don't die you still suffer a lot. I'm old but I am still in no hurry to leave this planet.

As you were.

To Seal or Un-Seal

Today Chris and I went to the Beauty Shop to get beautified, but it didn't work very well. We still look about the same. She had highlights and a cut and I had a cut. Then we went to Walmart because I wanted to buy a utility knife because I misplaced the one I had.
So I bought the utility knife to open things with. It is almost impossible to open some of the packages these days.
I needed a buzz saw to open the cardboard plastic the knife was enclosed in. Chris was here and finally was able to get it off of the cardboard it was on. It says the blade is retractable but we couldn't get it to retract at all. So it has to have the sharp blade exposed all the time. It says it's retractable so that means we need lessons on how to do it.
We found a Pepsi Cola sale and bought some and OJ and a few other things and went to our favorite Mexican food restaurant and had a wonderful meal and came home.
Wasn't that exciting!!!

Ways to beat the Haze

Ways to beat the haze, go back to bed, and sleep it off. Oops! it's still there. I think it's here for the long haul.
What could we gripe about if no haze? Politics? It's not politics it's lunatics and I'm not getting into that, I'm not going to ruin my day.
Don't be mean, get the Vaccine.
Wear a mask and show some class.
Stay at home and do everyone a favor. Hey! everyone, I'm getting out of my house tomorrow and getting a haircut. Now, that is exciting. As you were, life goes on.
This is my mother on the left and her
sisters and their Mom on the right.
They also had three brothers,
Many many years ago.
