But I Need A Haircut

But I need a haircut!!! and my beauty Shop is out in the country and Chris does not drive on icy streets, but I need a haircut! I crochet Beanie and stocking caps, but I look like a dork in one of those. When I was a teenager we wore Bandanas. When your hair was a mess you could hide it with a bandana. Now the bandanas are smaller and very popular. I don't Google things, I Amazon them. That is how I found out how popular bandanas are.

Facebook can't leave its site alone. I hate the way it is now. And they don't even care what I think.
The local news is telling us to expect 12 degrees tonight.
I remember when it was 25 below zero in 1947.

Jolly Merry Newyear

It's a quiet day on the home front until you turn the TV on; every wild thing you can envision is going on somewhere. We seem to have our share of it. A boy received shots in the legs from a Gang rival. Homeless people are welcome at the Senior Center, but they are not open overnight. What are those poor people going to do? They could set some bonfires and hope the authorities won't notice.
I guess they can't do that either, what will they use for fuel?

Now a Christmas tree caught fire. I have been around for a long time and I have never heard of a Christmas tree catching fire. I know those trees are collected away too early and are dried out.
I have a new Great-Great-Grandson I hope to see before long. I'm sure they are not in any hurry to bring him out in the cold weather.
I have a blue blanket I made for him. It doesn't take me forever to crochet something when I set my mind on it. My hands have to be busy. I am either crocheting something or writing something or trying to draw something. I set my plants in front of this window and they like it much better. They are growing like weeds.

Does anyone know what this plant is called?
I found something that said Chinese Evergreen but that doesn't seem right.

Another Day

Another short day. I think in the next week or so our days are going to start getting longer. I never gave it a second thought when I had normal vision. The worse my vision gets the darker it seems. I keep all the lamps in the room on until I go to bed. I'm constantly knocking something over or tripping over it. I'm learning some new dance steps.
Thank Goodness, I have a good neighbor, she brings my mail in for me and puts my garbage can on the street when it's time, and even takes care of the Cat's litter box. She has a cat and also has one of those extra expensive litter boxes that take care of the litter without changing the litter so often. I looked online to see how expensive they are. They are out of my budget by a country mile.

I think I would have claustrophobe on one of those Plane rides. They are jammed in there like sardines. No wonder they have so many oddball things happen on planes.
Well, as you have probably guessed by now, I have nothing to write about so I will stop wasting ink and get off of here.

Something To Do

Once upon a time, I tried to learn how to draw things. I don't know why part of the picture seems to be missing. Well, I gave up that pastime.
I took up crocheting. I learned how when I was a teenager. Back then the only crocheting I knew of was done with thread, not sewing thread, I don't remember how many ply's it was but I made a few fancy doilies with it. I had never seen any yarn. The years went by and I found yarn. I also taught myself how to knit. It was before YouTube so I bought a book of instructions. I didn't teach myself, the book taught me how. Now, I'm burned out on both so I am at a loss as to what can I do.
I am not a fan of watching TV. I watch Dr. Phil and the news and that's about it. Today I found The Big Band Era and that was nice to watch. I enjoy Facebook. I drop an opinion on there every now and then.
Well, TaTa and Merry Christmas.
I love this picture of Cora and Chloe
I think Chloe is now 13.

Blame it on the Pandemic

It is a cold December morning and I have risen before the sun. I have no earth-shattering news. The Pandemic is still with us and now the news reports it may be the cause of so much unrest and violence.
If everyone would just turn off the TV it would solve the problems of the world.
I sit in the same chair in the same corner and if you don't irritate me I won't irritate you.
I started this yesterday but the days are so short I didn't have time to finish it. Now it's already dark again at 4 PM.
I don't do much cooking these days, I let Amy do the cooking. Amy as in frozen TV dinners. She is the best, even her Pizza's are wonderful and I am not a big Pizza fan.
I had to give up driving a few years ago because of my vision and I miss it more than anything. I even had a dream recently that I was driving again and I was so happy. I parked the car to go into a store and when I came out I couldn't remember where I parked and was in a panic trying to find my car. I walked and ran all over that town looking for it. It was a nightmare. No wonder I am so tired all the time.
Merry Christmas.
and don't forget your mask!

The Cows

The Day the cows didn't come home was just another day on the farm or so we thought. It had been raining most of the day and the roads were muddy and the creek was rising. The cows had always just walked across the creek to the greener meadow and had their normal grass chewing day. This day when they decided to return to the the barnyard pasture the creek was overflowing. Hark! what shall we do said one cow to the other cow. "Well, you figure it out, I'm on milk overload and can't think very well".
I think we can wait for the man in the straw hat to solve the problem and that goes for me too.

Mystery

Chris is my DIL if they'd get married. We find things to do so we drive around a lot and if we see a yard sale, we bailout and hope the car stops rolling. Yesterday I found this Picture and it was love at first sight so I shelled out $10.00 and I had to take a few other things with it that I didn't really want, but what I don't want will fit in the garbage can. They were just trying to get rid of their stuff. I have a watch that knows everything. it's connected to my phone and I took a picture of the house with the flowers and the phone begins to tell me everything about the picture. It is on Ebay for $45.00 and is a 1984 vintage. I gather that it used to hang in one of the better wine shops that only sell the high-priced wine. Now, for the mystery, what is that thing at the bottom left side of the picture that looks like a candle? It absolutely is not in the picture, I even looked at it with a magnifying glass. Not there. I don't even have a white candle in my house or anything that looks like that.
So when you get it figured out just let me know.
My daughter figured it out. It is the reflection of the top corner of a lamp that sets on an end table.

Bored

Chris and I decided to go out for lunch. We had a couple other errands to take care of so we were driving all over the place. Something so simple as driving around old familiar places is fun.  We stopped at a yard sale and I bought a picture to hang on the wall. We ate lunch at Red Robin. A very good place to eat. I had Fish and Chips and they were excellent. We both wanted onion rings and they were out of them. That was disappointing. We went to the Bread store as we call it, and bought Raisin bread which we both love.

This is AnthonyAKA AJ. This was taken a long time ago. He was always called AJ until he started school and the teacher called him Anthony. He told me he was happy that he had a name like everyone else, so think carefully when you start calling your cute baby some odd name. My husband was always called Bud and he had a very nice name, Kenneth. So I named my first boy, Kenneth. He ended up being called Kenny by most people, but at least it's his real name, and don't call them by their middle name.  I was called by my middle name and it's always been a problem.
Anthony still has a motorcycle. I don't know if he still has this one or not.
