This is a picture of my Hop Training buddies. This was a time in history when you dressed to the nines to go shopping or an afternoon movie. I love that coat.
The picture is wonderful! When I was a little girl my mother and I always got dressed up to go shopping in downtown Seattle at Frederick & Nelson and the Bon Marche. We had malts at Woolworth's or chicken salad sandwiches at Frederick's in their restaurant which had white table clothes. Christmas shopping with my mother, grandmother, aunts and cousins was fun. I had a Buster Brown type hat with ribbon down the back and a camel hair coat and wore patent leather shoes.

Great picture. I am glad for the chang in times simply for the reason that I would break a leg wearing heels anywhere.
I absolutely love this picture! What a romantic time it seems to have been! Thanks for posting this.

My Gramma used to take my downtown for special luncheon and I wore gloves and patent leather shoes.
