It’s a conspiracy I tell you. Planned from day one, just so they can get wealthy at my expense. Let me tell you the plot. The handle fell off of the oven door. Can you believe they would make a stove with a handle that would just fall off and break up into pieces so it cannot be fixed. This stove is just a young thing, only 17 years old. It’s still a teenager and the handle just broke and fell off. I considered buying another somewhat older stove with a working handle, but all the old stoves I saw on Craig’s list were ugly and not self-cleaning. I will not buy a stove that doesn’t know how to clean itself. It’s not my nature to do something so stupid. So I decided to google for stove parts, thinking a handle couldn’t cost more than 15 dollars or so. I found my model number and serial number and went searching. Now fasten your seat belt, because this will throw you for a loop to find out how much it cost for a 2 foot, 3 inch piece of black plastic. They didn’t even include new screws, you can just use the old ones. It cost me $77.20 for a piece of plastic 2 inches wide and 2 feet, 3 inches long. Do you not think that is a little over the top? I am including shipping in that which is also outrageous.
I cannot complain about their service though. They hired FedEx to deliver it and that driver drove night and day through oil slicks, blinding hailstorms and tornadoes to get here. He arrived in about 5 business days and brought it right to my front door. I have a handle on my oven door now and a new bill with the credit card Company. My credit card co. now tells me how long it will take to pay off my balance if I make the minimum payment. It will take me seven years to pay off my debt at the credit card Company. Those stove people are going to be the only ones with any money left by the time this recession is over.
Sorry, that brought something else to mind. I told my insurance man that was here a few days ago that my bank has something new that will be added to online banking. We will be able to make an online deposit if we have a computer and scanner. I asked the Insurance man if he thought we would be able to make a cash deposit by scanning a 50 dollar bill a few times. He said, "Why not, the government’s been doing it forever" .
