I couldn't resist showing off the grand kids. They don't live in the same town, but still get to see each other a lot. I think Nana and Papa's is a favorite meeting place.

The following is my post 12/24/10. It shows what was going on at that time.
Chloe, get your diaper bag packed. You are going on a trip.
I'm all dressed up and waiting for you.
I've been waiting for a long time.
I can't wait to meet my parents.
I can't wait to show you my new teeth.
Here we are in 2014

The party was at the park and it was a beautiful day except for the wind. It was so bad we couldn't have the candle blowing part. We had fun. The food was delicious, and the cake was lip-smacking scrumptious.

Remembering Trent

This is a picture my grandson, Trent, drew of me when he was 3 years old.
When he showed it to me, I asked why are those yellow lines under my eyes. He said, “those are tears.”  I remember a creepy feeling came over me and I wondered if he had some kind of ESP. He had never seen me cry. He is 3 years old, why would he think about me having tears.
Tomorrow would be his 39th birthday, but he died in a plane crash when he was 12. Shortly after his death I was gathering up his drawings to look at. I had saved some of them. By the time he died he was on his way to becoming a very good artist. When I came across the above drawing his prediction came true and more tears rolled.

Our lives moved on and February 13, 2010, on Trent’s birthday, God sent me a Great Granddaughter. Her second birthday is tomorrow. Now the day has a happier meaning, but we never forget.
He always had a pencil in his hand drawing another picture.

The big birthday

He made this painting when he was 10 or 11.
I couldn't get a very good picture of it.

Now on a happier note this is the little cutie that was born on his birthday 2 years ago.
Happy Birthday Leah !!!!

So Be Good

Even Snowmen have something to protest.
For so many years life ran rather smoothly, but that has all changed. All you hear are price cuts, cutting back, raising rates, tax increases, lay offs, bankruptcies and all those negative things.

Keep your smile smiling, a white-bearded plump man in a red suit is coming to town and he may bring gifts if we are good.

Another Day Down the Tube

Air Traffic Controllers are not the only ones that go to sleep on the job.

My only Soap Opera, All My Children, is going off the air and I think I know why. They ran out of men for Erica to marry. Now somebody has kidnapped her, and poor Jackson thinks she has changed her mind about marrying him and he even suspected that Caleb was behind her disappearance. Emma is being a brat and needs to sit in the naughty chair. I am going to miss it, I have been watching it off and on since it's beginning. I liked all of the old actors and always feel bad when one leaves the show.

I had a phone call the other night from somebody I grew up with and we had been out of touch  for 65 or more years. Her name is Mary Ruth and did we ever have a lot to talk about. We would try to hang up and then take off on something else. I guess most people call her Mary now, but she is still Mary Ruth to me. Her and Beverly were my childhood friends. We had lots of fun growing up.We went to the same one room school house. I think we will keep in touch now. It's so much easier than it was years ago. My sister Carol, that lives in her area had run into her some time ago and told her about my blog. She is not into computers so she had her daughter see if she could find the blog on her computer. Beverly had her daughter looking for it too. Anyway they found it.

The Awaited Day Has Arrived

The new parents have received their beautiful little girl. They are still in China, but were able to send pictures.

                                                             Jim, Cora and Chloe

She has a big family to grow up in. Mom, Dad, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandpa's and Grandma's galore. We can't wait to hold her ourselves. One of her Grandma's has a child day care that she will attend.  We are so blessed to have her in our family. Her middle name is Joy. How fitting is that?
