This is My Life

Life goes on in the slow lane too. Some people are so busy they don't have enough time in the day to get it all done, and now I have all the time in the world I never get everything done. It'll wait.

Our weather is ugly. The sun must be on vacation. I sure haven't seen much of it lately.
Christmas season again. It's a moneymaker for businesses and a money spender for the average person. Crime and murder don't slow down any for Christmas. So many people get murdered every day no matter what time of the year it is.
My ex-daughter-in-law came by today to give me something. When there is a divorce in a family it affects everyone in the family, we have made friends with the ex and that doesn't disappear because the marriage did. We have been friends for decades.
I think they are still friends as far as I know.

I don't have much blog material anymore, but I still get a lot of views on my blog. One day recently I had 80 views in one day.
For whatever reason, I have always had an interest in writing and words, and have a dictionary at my fingertips. My favorite pastime is crossword puzzles. I even saved this old article I found in a magazine once upon a time. A long time ago.

Winter Has Arrived

I borrowed someone's picture.
Our weatherman said it was snowing, but not on my street.
And that is fine with me. We are going to have a wind storm with gusts of 50 mph. I think it's due tomorrow.
I don't have much to do these days. Watch TV and crochet and check to see if it's snowing yet. And of course, those leg exercises that I seem to forget until I tuck myself in bed at night.
I finally made an appointment to see my doctor. Maybe he'll have a magic pill that will give me some energy.

See ya later!

Roll Turkey

Headlines say Trump to roll Turkey. I have a vision of Trump herding a Turkey down the street. How long does it take to impeach a president?
My neighbor can't talk very plain and I can't hear very well, without the aids, and so when she brought my mail to me and said something, I couldn't understand at first what she was saying. I finally got it. She went bowling recently and bowled an 86. I am bowling illiterate so I don't know if that is good or not. I'm sure it's better than I could do.

I hate this weird weather. Isn't there ever a time when the temperature is perfect? Not around here, I either have to turn the heat on or the air.
I think Amber Guyger went into the neighbor's apartment instead of her apartment and shot her neighbor should do some serious time in prison. Why didn't she ask him what he was doing in her apartment instead of killing him? She had a gun in her hand so she was in charge. How could she not know which apartment was hers? There must be more to the story. I'd hate to be in her shoes.

Money is a Root

Money is the root of all evil, it's also the root of most good. I received a letter from my bank today that looked very  serious and I was a little concerned until I read it. It said, Congratulations! we are pleased to inform you that in recognition of the exceptional way you handle your account we have increased your credit limit to $8,000.00.
Wow! just what I want is to go in debt for another $8,000.00. I think most people make their payments on time. I have enough debt without their wonderful help.

My air conditioner never takes a break these hot days. We lived in this town years ago and  had just as hot weather, and we did not have an air conditioner. The windows  were left open all night and I doubt if we had a fan. I don't think fans were very plentiful at that time.
Remote controls were scarce too. In fact the TV was something many folks couldn't afford, including us. We finally got one and there was no remote control. Imagine having to get off your butt every time you wanted to change channels.

Most of my blogs are about the olden times, I suppose that's because I am an old relic myself.
I don't know anything exciting or I would share it with you.

Mr. Winter has over stayed his welcome.

Beautiful blue skies and white clouds today in the Yakima valley. I think it's about time since March is just around the corner. The longest February I have ever lived through. Now I can take the ski's off the car and put the tires back on.
The streets and my driveway are severely damaged from the icy winter. The city has already gone over budget with keeping the streets sanded so they have no money for repairing potholes and I have no money to fix my driveway with.
Boohoo, but I got some good news on the results of a biopsy. No cancer. I had colon cancer in 1997 which I survived, but once you have cancer you tend to worry about it returning and I had symptoms. Everything is Okie Dokie.
I also had the test on my heart. Nothing wrong with it either. Now I can shoot for 100. As if that would be an honor. Living in a warehouse in a bed the rest of my life doesn't appeal to me.
Let me count my grandkids again. Six Granddaughters. eight great grandkids and one on the way. She should be here in April or May. I realize if it wasn't for me those exact same people wouldn't be here. I must be pretty important!!!
Enough of this, on with my day.

Sick of Winter

Winter blew in with a vengeance and doesn't seem to have any plans on leaving anytime soon. We do need some wind to blow out some of the smog, fog, and other disgusting elements. Ugly snow decorates the terrain. The temperature stays in the freezing range day and night. It starts getting dark at four o'clock.
It's a recipe for depression.
Nothing exciting to watch on TV.  "Say yes to the dress" does not entertain me. I'd rather watch an old rerun of Daddy Longlegs. I was on board when TV came on the scene. Yakima only had three channels as I recall. It didn't matter what it was we watched it. No TV remote. If you wanted to watch something different you had to get off your butt to change the channel, but that wasn't as challenging for me as it is today.
It'll soon be Spring and we can start complaining about all the pot-holes in the street, and other little annoying things.
I just killed some time doing this so I feel better now.
No rhyme or reason for this photo.
He was my new husband in 1946.

Fall is Falling

Fall has fallen again. Nothing much to look forward to unless you enjoy snow falling and filling up the driveway and dark falls a little too soon as well.  I live in the midst of three schools so I watch the kids marching down the sidewalk  to school, but when they go home in midafternoon they seem to be  much more hurried. They run and laugh with their friends. When I moved here about 24 years ago I was told I might regret living where so many kids might be a nuisance. Kids have never bothered me except one time. One plucked my one daffodil that was in bloom. I didn't actually see who took it and I even doubt Judge Judy would rule in my favor, but I suspect one of those adolescents helped themselves to it.  It's okay as long as they don't mess with my money tree.
Most  people look forward to weekends, but I look forward to Mondays. There is not as much traffic and stores are not as busy either.
A cat adopted me and we don't always see eye to eye. For some reason, she seems to think she is the boss.
