Everything is coming up roses and Boom! everything changes.
Stay home or your life may be in danger. Wear a mask if you go out. The world goes on, babies are still being born and I said all that to say this I have a new great-grandson, Joshua Dez Johnson is his name. He has a big sister, Natalia and she takes good care of him.

This Old House

This house is located on Adams St. in Stillwater. Ok.
Pictures can bring back so many memories. My family was living in this house when I reached my 16th birthday. There were two little one room houses  behind this house and a pen. My brother Ray had a horse in the pen. He called the horse Sox because the horse wore white anklets as I called them. Ray always said, " They are not anklets they're socks".

The other shed was used for a laundry room. My Mom went into the business of doing laundry for the many service men that were stationed there during WW11. This was before clothes washers and dryers as we know them today. Everything was hung on a  clothes line to dry. She had an electric clothes washer with a ringer to ring the item with. She spent many hours standing by an ironing board ironing the uniforms. Dad had a job with the city driving the street sweeper and also spent time in the Fall working with the threshing crews when it was harvest time. Most of the time he was also the Preacher of the church they were attending. We moved from there because the landlord wanted to move into the house as I recall. My little sister, Carol was born when we lived in this house. She was the 8th child my mother gave birth to. All the births were home births except the last one. They all had a doctor assisting the birth except the one born in a hospital. A nurse ignored my mother when she told her the baby was coming and told her it would be hours before the baby will be born. She went on her merry way and mom gave birth all alone without anyone. When Dad got through discussing it with the head of the hospital it was decided there would be no charge.
They were the start of a very large Lockwood family. I know all of us are very grateful for Dennis and Letha Lockwood.

The Olden Days

You reach a certain point in your life when whatever happens has already happened at least once.  You have a passport for the Go-to-Heaven train and nobody at the station seems to know when it's leaving. I really don't want to know anyway, so there.
I'm waiting for another great-grandchild and that is exciting. It's a girl and she will be born April 12th. When we had our kids about all we knew was that a baby was coming and we had the fun of guessing what sex it was. We had to pick out a boy name and a girl name. Some people even ended up with twins and didn't have a clue.
We got through a Winter without a ton of snow.
I hate cooking and with a sore leg and foot, it's rather difficult to hobble around and cook anything. TV dinners will be the dinner. Some of them are not bad. I like Mexican food so I bought what was called a Burrito Bowl.  It was so spicy hot it was terrible. The next time I bought a chicken fried steak. How can they ruin that? I will find out because it will be my dinner tonight.
The picture is my sister-in-law, Florence, cooking a dinner for us visitors.  Her little girl is Alice Marie and I am holding my first born, Kenny.
No new news so this is it.

Killing Time

In my younger days, my life revolved around an ironing board. Everything had to be ironed. On Sunday evening I had to drag out the ironing board because the kid's gym clothes needed to be ironed. My husband had spent many years in the military and he liked the khaki uniform so well he still wanted to wear the khaki pants and his work shirts were khaki and believe me they were not fun. They had to be starched and ironed. I was younger then and had some energy so it was just part of life, I didn't think anything about it. They didn't have the fabric in those days that didn't require ironing.

I got my hair cut today for another five weeks.
Now I sit here waiting for a phone call to let me know my fifth great granddaughter has arrived. I wish she would hurry up, I'm getting tired of waiting. Her mother has been in labor since yesterday.
I don't have anything new to write about, just killing time.
We're having winds today. Lots of rain so far this year. I know that's due to change any day.
I guess this is it until something interesting happens.
We had a family get-together last Saturday. Here are couple pictures of the kids. I have a lot of pictures on my phone, but I don't know how to get to them from here.

Laura and Terry due to be parents any minute.

Family Pictures

I love this. Chloe and her little sister.

This top picture is my son, Mel as a baby, and the lower one is Tyler Faris his grandson. Tyler will be one-year-old very soon. You can see a family resemblance. Especially the smile. Anyway, I think so.
I tried to put the photo's side by side, but Blogger won't let it happen. Or maybe I'm losing my bloggering skills.

Been trying to find something to do since the weather is so wet and cold.
Now we have more snow coming tomorrow morning. It's the one day I have an appointment.

This is Mel and Nancy's bough of the family tree. Taken Christmas eve. Me Paleface.

Ramblings and Pictures

I'm in training. Training myself to stay awake until 10 PM at least.
I have a busy life, busy crocheting or reading. I have my four walls pretty much memorized. I don't have any flowers on my walls to count. Chris (DIL) and I have been looking at apartments in assisted living apartments for the aged, semi-disabled, disgruntled and overbearing. We have found that they will set you up for a tour and lunch. It's right up our alley. We have found some of the best eating we've had in a long time. Some of the apartments are out of my reach by a thousand dollars, but the food is great. The other day we had a fish basket with clams, oysters, shrimp and fries and cheese cake for dessert. Two of the residents sat at our table. We struck up a conversation with them and one of the ladies said her son owns the place. She was 92 and her rent is free.
I will include some random pictures.

Hailey was so happy to see her. Caretaker walked away in tears.

She gives everyone a second name.
