Covid-19

Give me a break!  I was depressed before all this virus disaster started and now I'm about ready to jump off the nearest curb. 
Countin flower's on the wall, Playing solitare till dawn with a deck of 51, that doesn't bother me at all, but it's time to find a cure for this Covid 19. 
I know it's very serious and we need to follow the rules. I think most people are following the rules. 
Now we need ventilators for the victims.   
Maybe when the hot weather comes it will dry it up. Well, it doesn't get hot everywhere so I guess it won't help much.  The bad part about it is not knowing how long or can they find a vaccine for it.
Are we going to have to wear mask's forever. 

Back In The Day

Back in the day we slept on this kind of bed and thought nothing of it. Look at my dark hair and back in the day I sure didn't dye it. Back in the day I could sleep 16 hours a day and thought nothing of it. Now If I sleep four hours I consider it a good night. 

Back in the day all you had to worry about was the rent money and the car payment. In that day you had to search long and hard to find a place to rent. It was about 1946 and the war (WW2) had just ended and it seemed that the whole world was searching for a place to rent. Most landlords didn't have to advertise a place for rent, they just hung a 'For rent' sign on the place and had to wait a  few minutes and they had it rented. This was a two room cabin in a trailer park. I think it cost Thirty dollars a month. It was furnished with a card table for the kitchen table and old rickity bed and a couple kitchen chairs and one ancient Chest of Drawers. I hadn't bothered to learn how to cook when I was a kid.  I was still a kid so we ate a lot of Campbells soup. 

My husband was a smoker and I thought that was pretty cool so I took up the habit. My brain wasn't fully developed yet. 

Our next door cabin neighbor was Engel. We got aquainted and upteen years later our daughter, Karen,  married their nephew, Dennis Engel. Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we practice to conceive. 

Life has gone on and I am about ready to bail out of this train.

You can't walk outside or you might get a virus. We didn't know what a virus was back in the day. 

If you must go outside try to hold your breath and don't get within six feet of anyone.

To Bleed or Not To Bleed

Life goes on but we may not. Gloom and doom is upon us.
To start with I have a home companion by the name of Sassy LeMassy. If she see's something move she attacks it. She attacked my hand and snagged a hole in my hand between my thumb and finger that left a hole that began to bleed profusely.
It began to pour out of me. I thought I had enough pressure on it, but it kept bleeding.  No one wants to go outside and especially not to a hospital. 

After dealing with it all afternoon with no solution. No matter what I did nothing would stop the bleeding. I even missed Dr. Phil. 

 I finally put a cotton ball on it because I have no gauze, and glued it down with a couple bandaids and then a plastic glove to hold everything in place and held my hand in the air like I wanted to ask a question. Shelly, Chris's daughter, told me to run cold water over it and wrap it up as thight as I can and hold my arm higher than my heart. That isn't easy to do, try it sometime. This was hours ago and no blood has soaked through the cotton but I am going to leave it on overnight before I unleash it. 
I take a few aspirins for pain and it can thin your blood so I need to find a different pain killer or a different companion.

Waiting for What

Well, here we sit waiting for the other shoe to drop so we can get on with our lives. What if it never drops, are we going to live on the edge till the end of time?  I don't think time comes to an end. I lost my zeal for crocheting.

It can get very boring when you have nothing to talk to but the cat. My phone doesn't even ring. Am I the only one left on the planet? I always hate to call others because they may be busy. We can still text. I just heard my phone ding or was it the Microwave reminding me of something I forgot about. 
I am glad I have no little kids to worry about. Imagine being cooped up for days with a couple little kids. Dogs and cats probably don't care as long as you feed them.
Covid-19 is a killer on the loose. He is such a coward and picks on the sick and elderly. 
This is all I have to say. Just back up and sit down, it will end soon. I wish.

Wait Awhile and Maybe it'll fly or Die

The world is so full of scammers. Every now and then I get a call from a lady that says there is nothing wrong with your credit card at this time but. I hang up on her but/butt at that time.
If I want another credit card I'll do the shopping for one.
I wish the Coronavirus was fake, but it is real. It is very scary and people are paying attention to the warnings. It seems so strange to look out my window and there is no one on the sidewalk or cars driving by.  I didn't know I would miss something like that.  No yellow school busses driving by. About the only vehicles are delivery trucks and of course we can depend on the trusty mail service, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night nor the  Coronavirus will prevent the mail service from doing their job" or something like that. Forget the mail service, we don't those ad's and other useless magazines and catalogs. 
It would be nice if we knew people were returning to work and the toilet paper was back on the shelves. It brings back memories of the smelly outhouse with the Montgomery Ward catalog in place of toilet paper.  I've been around a year or two and I remember those things.I am not a young thing. Our first phone number was a two-digit number, and you turned the crank on the wall phone and a woman, always a woman, would say, "Number, please". The telephone booth was built and how convenient it was. You needed coins because it wasn't free. I was about 4 years old and I remember the phone on the wall of my grandparents home. Our family couldn't afford a phone. Most emergency calls were conveyed by wire (sending a message by wire) meaning you had to go to town and walk in their office and pay them to send your message. 

Calling someone out of your area was reserved for emergencies because it was expensive to make a long distant call.

Spooks and Light Bulbs

Spooky days are upon us. It became dark in the evening and I turned on a lamp which didn't come on so I changed the light bulb and it still didn't come on. Chris dropped by so I told her about my lamp and I brought another lamp in from a bedroom and she put a bulb in it and the bulb exploded, I screamed because I thought she had been shot from the noise it made. She put another bulb in it and it it also exploded.  I turned on the floor lamp that I hybernate under day and night and it refused to come on. I put another bulb and it just flat out wouldn't work. The electricty was on because the TV was on a station that was speaking Spanish and Chris asked why I was watching a channel that was in Spanish. I told her it was English when I turned it on. By now I am running out of light bulbs and Chris can't drive in the dark so she had to go home. She took the lamps with her to see if Kenny could fix them.
Kenny returned the lamps today, and one lamp was meant for 40 watt bulbs and I was using 100 watts. The other lamp was plugged into a power strip that was dead, wore out, 40 years old.


The Cornavirus is out there so stay inside and that is a scary thing. 

I recall when our kids were small we worried about them getting Polio. What a happy day it was when a vacine was discovered that would take that fear away so I am hoping the same will happen for this virus. 

I Like Light

Spring is on the way and I am happy about it. The days are longer and the light is most welcome.
Now the news is on and I bet you can't guess what they are talking about. Stay home and wash your hands. I think people are following the rules. Very little traffic on my street and pedestrians are few and far between.  Well, maybe it'll die out soon and people will be able to enjoy the Summer months.

I haven't been writing anything because I haven't been anywhere or seen anything. I was so sick of hearing about the virus so I found a movie to watch. It turned out to be a scary creepy movie but I watched the whole thing. I am going to find a better one for tonight.
I have nothing to tell you so I will bring this to a close and happy toilet paper searches to you. 
I'll bet those toilet paper making businesses are celebrating their success. That success will soon go down the drain. Haha ha, get it? down the drain. This solitary confinement is getting to me.

The Eyes Have It

Today I went to the eye doctor man. I told him the last eye injection I had left me in pain until I slept for a few hours. He didn't know what caused it, but I think I know what the problem was. Recently I spent a night in the hospital and they took all the test and decided I had an infection and was very dehydrated. I took the meds and got over it, but decided there is no reason to be dehydrated so I have been drinking water nonstop. Today I had another eye injection and have had no pain whatsoever. Not only that but I  feel much better. Sometimes you just have to use your common sense. Drink water!

After the visit with the doctor, Chris and I went to breakfast. My appointments are about as early as I can get because they get so backed up with emergencies or whatever that you sometimes have to be there for three hours. I'm a wise old owl in my old age so I decided if I am first I won't have to wait.
The eye doctor told me that he never wears a watch because he works there and takes the next patient and he doesn't care what time it is. He also said if he has to know the time for some reason he looks at his phone. Dick Tracy had a watch like ours years ago.
Well, after the early appointment Chris and I decided to find breakfast. We are driving up the street to McDonald's we noticed another similar place on our side of the street so we pulled in there and had breakfast. All the while we were eating we were complaining because they didn't have those hashbrowns like McD's have. They had tator tots that were way over salted. The cheese in the bun was not melted. gripe, gripe, gripe. Coffee with one kind of cream and we like the flavored cream. We discussed the empty parking lot should have been our first clue.
Live and learn and sometimes you make the same mistake more than once.
